If you’re looking for a job, you’re bound to end up going through a few job interviews before you find the right position. If you want to reduce the time you spend on the job search, you need to learn to master the job interview and one of the most important things you should do at any interview is also something that tons of people overlook.

For the most part, it doesn’t even matter what questions you ask either. Ask about the hours, the office culture, how the position will affect the company as a whole, how you’d best be able to meet the department’s goals, how the company plans to grow over the next few years, etc. The most important thing is just to ask questions because it shows you care about the position and are interested in the job.
Of course, there are some things you certainly shouldn’t bring up during a job interview -try to skip any questions about benefits, vacation, pay, etc. that will make it sound like you’re only interested in working to get a paycheck.
